The Client
Cheeesy Tucker is a Canberra wood-fired pizza food truck serving authentic hand-tossed pizzas — Capricciosa, Diavola, Four Cheese Mushroom, Gamberi, Hawaiian, and more. Open seven days a week, they've served over 500 pizzas with a 4.9-star average rating across Google and Facebook reviews.
The Challenge
Most food truck websites get it wrong in the same way: they treat the truck like a restaurant. But food trucks have a completely different problem set, and Cheeesy Tucker needed solutions for all of them at once:
- No fixed address: People need to know where the truck will be, today, from their phone, in under 30 seconds.
- Order volume: Pre-orders for pickup are how you scale a single oven on a busy Friday night. They needed real e-commerce functionality.
- Visual menu: Specialty pizzas need to look appetising on a phone screen.
- Gift cards: Are a real revenue stream, but only if the system is dead simple.
- Constant updates: The team needs to update the menu and locations themselves on the fly.
The Solution
A full e-commerce website built around wood-fired pizza and the realities of running a food truck. We delivered:
Online Ordering System
"Order Now" on every pizza, persistent cart in the header, pre-order for pickup so hungry customers don't wait.
"Find Us" Architecture
Social-media-linked location updates so customers always know where the truck is today without confusion.
Integrated Gift Cards
Instant delivery, no expiry, fully integrated. A true automated revenue stream.
Social Proof Aggregation
Pulling 4.9-star reviews directly from Google and Facebook to build immediate trust for first-time buyers.
The Tech Stack
To deliver this experience quickly and reliably, we used:
- React 19 with Tailwind CSS — dark theme, custom orange/brown brand palette.
- FastAPI backend handling orders, cart state, and gift card generation.
- PostgreSQL storing orders, menu items, and gift card records.
- Payment integration for online orders and gift card purchases.
- Admin interface for the team to self-manage everything.
The Result
Cheeesy Tucker went from "another food truck with a social media page" to a proper food business with a real digital presence. The site handles orders, sells gift cards, showcases reviews, and keeps customers updated — all while matching the premium quality of the pizza.
"Maximum Ideas built us a proper ordering website, not just a menu page. Customers can order online, buy gift cards, see our reviews, and find out where we'll be — all from their phone. It matches the quality of our wood-fired pizza, which is exactly what we wanted."
